Sarah Greenough
Head of Maritime Sustainability and Supply Chain Excellence

Sarah started her career at BHP Steel in 2002, leaving what was by 2008, BlueScope Steel as a Supply Chain Manager. She spent 11 years in the energy sector at Western Power, in Perth Australia, holding a number of senior commercial and supply chain roles, such as Head of Commercial.
Sarah re-joined BHP in 2019 as Supply Chain Excellence Manager in Singapore, bringing her supply chain expertise to the Maritime industry with the vision of integrating BHP’s end to end supply chain. Sarah has also held other positions within the Maritime portfolio such as, Head of Maritime Safety and Sustainability, where she led BHP’s Maritime Decarbonisation strategy and delivered the world’s first LNG dual fuel Newcastlemax vessels, along with other feats such as the deployment of wind assisted propulsion technology across BHP’s supply chain and introducing biofuels into the fuel mix across all commodities as a standard fuel type. Sarah currently performs the role of Head of Maritime Enterprise, managing all commercial chartering and operational activities for BHP commodities including met coal, copper, nickel, uranium and potash, across the bulk and containerised freight markets.
Sarah applies her industry expertise and thought leadership through various Board positions within the Maritime ecosystem, including the Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation (GCMD) and RightShip.
