Nikos C. Papathanasis

Nikos Papathanassis has received a B.A.Sc in Mechanical Engineer and a M.A.Sc in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Toronto and a Master’s Degree in Management at the University of Waterloo in Canada.

Member of the Technical Chamber of Greece commenced his career in 1984 at DeHavilland Aerospace company in Canada. Served as a member of the BoD of Hellenic Aerospace Industry and executive vice president of Olympic Aviation airline co. His work experience includes C level positions in the private sector in Industry and construction as well as companies of State interest. As a CEO of Metro and light rail companies, as ISAP SA and STASY SA, with more than 2500 employees succeeded in turning around the balance sheets to positive outcome. He also served as a President elect at the National section of the European Center of Employers and Enterprises (CEEP). Throughout his thirty-five years’ career he has developed business reform plans that successfully restructured companies.

In July 2019 Prime Minister K. Mitsotakis appointed him Deputy Minister of Development and Investments responsible for Industry, Commerce and Consumer affairs.
