Nicos Attas is a seasoned professional in maritime safety, statutory compliance & business growth with over 30 years of experience.

He holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany. He has extensive experience in ship and offshore structure certification and classification, as well as in the implementation of IMO regulations on ship safety and marine pollution prevention, on decarbonization and optimization of ship performance.

He currently serves as Marine Manager of Registro Italiano Navale (RINA) in Cyprus, one of the world’s leading IACS classification societies, where he is responsible for all marine and commercial activities of the Society in Cyprus.

Throughout his long-standing career, Mr. Attas has also held senior positions with the Cyprus Maritime Administration, specializing in ship safety and environmental protection. In this capacity, he represented Cyprus in various IMO and EMSA committees, contributing to international maritime policy and regulatory development.
