Centrofin Management Inc.

Yiannis D. Procopiou is the Chief Executive Officer of Centrofin Management Inc., a privately
owned Greek maritime company with roots in ship operations dating back to the 1970s.
Founded in the early 1990s by his father, the company today operates a fleet of 44 vessels across
the crude oil, clean product, and dry bulk sectors. With a long experience in shipbuilding and 12
newbuildings currently on order, the combined deadweight is expected to reach 6.2 million
tonnes in the coming months.
Yiannis holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from City, University of London, and
a Master’s degree in Shipping, Trade and Finance from Bayes Business School. He joined the
company in 2013, gaining broad experience across several departments before focusing on the
Chartering division, where he developed commercial expertise in both the tanker and dry bulk
markets. He has served as CEO of the company for the past five years.
Under his leadership, Centrofin has reinforced its commitment to responsible, people-centric
ship management practices, maintaining multiple ISO certifications and publishing its first ESG
report in 2024. Yiannis is a firm believer in the maritime industry’s transition towards
decarbonisation, and the company continues to embed environmental and energy-efficiency
standards across its fleet operations.
Beyond shipping, he is actively involved in real estate and property development. He also
maintains a close connection with Bayes Business School, where he supports initiatives dedicated
to developing the next generation of shipping professionals.
