Mr. Jörss started his shipping career at Hamburg-Süd in Germany. Later, he went to work for Nordcapital and E.R. Capital Holding, the family office of Erck Rickmers, where he oversaw a portfolio of bulk carriers and container vessels.
His experience spans from shipping operations and management to decarbonisation and asset financing both on the equity and debt side. For many years he has been structuring and executing shipping investments for institutional and private investors.
In 2022 he joined Hapag-Lloyd initially setting up and heading the Asset Management department. Since 2024 Mr. Jörss is the Head of the Vessel Portfolio at Hapag-Lloyd. The department is in charge of Chartering, S+P, Newbuilding Projects, Recycling and Asset Management.
Mr. Jörss holds an MBA from Ashridge Business School.
