Milena holds a dual Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from Cornell University, N.Y and an M.Sc. in Shipping, Trade and Finance from Cass University, London.
Milena is currently a Commercial Director of Star Bulk Carriers Corp., having served as a board member from October 2009 until August 2014. She is also head of Oceanbulk Maritime, a private dry bulk shipping company, and a member of the board of directors of Helmepa, a nonprofit organization aiming to safeguard the seas from ship-generated pollution. In 2004, whilst an intern at Merrill Lynch, Milena assisted in founding the “Women’s Milestones” program.
Milena has been an Ambassador of JustWorld since 2009. She is a showjumping rider, who founded the breeding company PremiuMares in 2015.
