Michalis Livanos is Chief Financial Officer of Drydel Shipping Inc., with more than 24 years of experience across the maritime shipping and financial sectors. Throughout his career, he has held senior positions with private and publicly listed shipping companies, with responsibilities spanning finance, treasury, ship management, acquisitions, vessel financing, and sales.
Livanos began his career in the energy sector as an FFA (Forward Freight Agreement) trader at Enron Europe Limited, where he gained early exposure to the financial and risk-management aspects of the shipping markets. He subsequently moved into ship finance, joining the London branch of The Bank of Nova Scotia as an Associate Director on its Ship Finance desk.
Over the course of his career, Livanos has served in senior roles including Chief Financial Officer, Head of Treasury, and General Manager, providing financial and strategic leadership across a broad range of shipping-related activities. His experience encompasses corporate finance and treasury, vessel acquisitions and disposals, ship financing, and operational and commercial aspects of shipping.
Livanos holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Athens, a Master’s degree in Shipping, Trade & Finance from Cass Business School, City University of London, and an MBA from Cardiff Business School, Wales.
