Deck cadet Michail Petrou is a senior student at the Merchant Marine Academy of Aspropyrgos.
He successfully completed his first seagoing training trip in 2024, serving onboard a Dynamic Positioning (DP) vessel operated by Tsakos Shipping and Trading S.A., where he was introduced to core aspects of shipboard life and navigation practices as a deck cadet, gaining initial experience to maritime operations under supervision.
He also is a Greek champion in flat water canoe/kayak sprint.
He chose this career because he has always admired the life of seafarers.
