Mark Pearson holds a degree in Naval Architecture from Newcastle University and began his career with DNV, spending 12 years in various technical and managerial roles across London, Athens, and Cyprus, including Area Manager for Cyprus and the East Med. He later gained hands-on commercial and operational experience with a VLCC owner-operator managing a 14-vessel fleet before joining the Angelicoussis Group in 2013.
Since 2015, he has served as Managing Director of Maran Tankers Management Inc., successfully steering the fleet’s expansion from 28 to 51 vessels, overseeing major fleet-wide environmental retrofits (scrubbers and BWTS), and driving key initiatives in digitalization and performance. Active across the broader maritime community, He is an INTERTANKO ExCom member and a member of Shell Maritime Partners in Safety.
