Makoto Oba, Business Director, oversees the development of various engineering and business projects. He majored in Naval Architecture at Osaka University and joined ABS in 1984. Prior to assuming his current role in 2015, Mr. Oba served as Manager of the Yokohama Ship Engineering Department.
With in-depth knowledge of Rules, IACS Requirements, Regulations, Codes and Standards, his key responsibilities and projects span a wide range of vessel types, including FPSOs, FLNGs, oil carriers, bulk carriers, containerships, LNG/LPG Carriers, offshore supply vessels, tugs and barges.
