Konstantinos Stampedakis is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of ERMA TECH GROUP. His entrepreneurial journey began in 2009, when he co-founded ERMA FIRST, laying the foundations for what, in 2025, evolved into ERMA TECH GROUP – a diversified, international marine environmental-technology group.
With a strong academic background in Chemical & Process Engineering, Konstantinos is an entrepreneur driven by the vision of transforming regulatory and environmental challenges in shipping into scalable, industrial, and commercially viable solutions. From the outset, he played a pivotal role in shaping ERMA FIRST’s technology roadmap, operational model, and international expansion strategy.
Under his leadership, ERMA FIRST grew from a specialized engineering venture into a globally recognized manufacturer and supplier of marine environmental systems, culminating in the Group’s strategic transformation and rebranding as ERMA TECH GROUP in 2025. His entrepreneurial focus has consistently combined product innovation, industrial execution, and long-term value creation.
Konstantinos has also led and executed multiple strategic acquisitions, both in Greece and internationally, strengthening the Group’s technological capabilities and global footprint. In parallel, he serves as Vice President of the Board of METIS and Managing Director of RWO, while most recently leading the acquisition of the US-based Ecochlor and German- based HASYTEC, two landmark transactions that significantly reinforced the Group’s presence in the North American and European market.
One of his most significant achievements is the conceptualization, development, and commercialization of the ERMA FIRST Ballast Water Treatment Systems, including the successful attainment of US Coast Guard Type Approval. This milestone positioned the company among the top global BWTS manufacturers and suppliers, validating both its technology and its entrepreneurial execution model.
Beyond corporate leadership, Konstantinos actively contributes to the evolution of international maritime regulation and standards. He is a member of the technical committee of BEMA and frequently participates as part of the
Greek delegation at the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) of the International Maritime Organization.
Today, Konstantinos leads ERMA TECH GROUP’s organic and inorganic growth strategy, focusing on advanced technologies that support the decarbonization of shipping and compliance with emerging regulatory frameworks such as FuelEU Maritime and EU ETS. He is currently heavily involved in the expansion of the Group’s Decarbonisation Portfolio, which includes Onboard Carbon Capture and Storage (OCCS) technologies, Energy-Saving Devices, and Alternative Maritime Power Solutions.
Through entrepreneurship, innovation, and disciplined execution, Konstantinos Stampedakis continues to position ERMA TECH GROUP as a key industrial enabler of the shipping industry’s transition toward sustainability and decarbonization.
