Fernanda Sarmento currently serves as Director of South America, DNV Maritime, and Country Chair, DNV Brazil, based in Rio de Janeiro. She leads maritime business operations across South America, overseeing certification, classification, and production services to deliver regulatory compliance and value adding outcomes for vessel owners and operators, for both ships and offshore units, manufactures, designers and yards.
Her leadership and experience combine curiosity, operational pragmatism, and a commitment to developing people to deliver reliable solutions and support the maritime sector’s ongoing transformation.
Fernanda holds a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering, a postgraduate degree in Petroleum Engineering, and an MBA in Project Management from leading universities in Brazil.
