Ester focuses on dispute resolution and regularly advises on and handles disputes arising under a range of shipping contracts, including charterparties, ship management agreements, bills of lading, MOAs, shipbuilding contracts, commission agreements and sale and purchase agreements.
Ester has extensive experience in handling complex multi-jurisdictional litigation and often represents clients before the English High Court as well as at London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA), ICC International Court of Arbitration and London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) arbitrations. Ester also assists clients with resolving disputes commercially and is regularly involved in settlement negotiations and conducting mediations.
On the non contentious side, Ester is often asked to advise on the drafting of charterparty terms including those dealing with vessel’s CII (Carbon Intensity Indicator) and the EU ETS (Emissions Trading Scheme), as well as drafting, reviewing and negotiating MOAs, ship management agreements, shipbuilding contracts and services agreements.
Before joining Hill Dickinson, Ester spent 12 years at a leading international law firm.
Ester obtained her BA (Hons) and MA (Hons) from the University of Cambridge, her GDL from Kaplan Law School and her LPC from BPP in London.
