Esben Poulsson was Executive Chairman of Enesel Pte. Ltd., a Singapore based ship owning entity of a fleet of container vessels under the Singapore Flag. He has worked in the maritime industry for over 50 years and has held a variety of senior management positions in Hong Kong, London, Copenhagen and Singapore.
Aside from his Enesel duties, he is non-executive Chairman of Cambiaso Risso Asia Pte. Ltd., Singapore, of Tamar Shipmanagement Ltd., Hong Kong and of Keppel Smit Towage Pte. Ltd., Singapore.
Additionally, he is a board member of BW Epic Kosan Gas Ltd, Singapore, of Finnlines PLc., Helsinki, of Abu Dhabi Ports Group (Maritime Cluster), Abu Dhabi and of Enesel Bulk Logistics DMCC, Dubai. He also acts as Senior Advisor to the Chairman of X-Press Feeders Ltd., Singapore.
He has been a member of the Board of the Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) since 2015.
He is immediate past Chairman (2022) of the London-based International Chamber of Shipping and immediate past President (2019) of the Singapore Shipping Association and is an Advisory Panel member of the Singapore Maritime Foundation. In 2019, he was appointed Vice President of the London-based charity, The Mission of Seafarers.
He was awarded the Public Service Star by the President of Singapore in 2019, and in 2021, the Seatrade Awards – in association with Lloyd’s List – Lifetime Achievement Award.
