Christoph Toepfer is CEO & Founder of Borealis Maritime, an independent maritime investment and ship management firm based in London. Today Borealis has around $1.2 billion of assets under management, and is managing a fleet of 80 vessels in the container, tanker, dry cargo and offshore supply sectors. In 2018, Borealis expanded its activities by forming Australis Maritime as a debt finance provider for maritime assets, and in 2019 launched Aurora Marine Fuels as a worldwide supplier of marine fuels and lubricants. For the commercial management of its container fleet, Borealis co-established Hanseatic Unity Chartering in 2015, and a year later established its own ship management division based in Istanbul. Prior to Borealis, Christoph was Managing Director of Allocean, a UK and Singapore based diversified shipping group with a fleet of 60 vessels. Christoph holds a Bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University, New York, and a Master’s degree from Cass Business School in London.
