Carl Dacombe started his maritime career as a Royal Navy Officer in 1999, serving worldwide with appointments in The Arabian Gulf, Afghanistan and Mediterranean.
His commercial shipping career started at EA Gibson Shipbrokers as a capesize broker in London in 2011, before moving to Singapore later that year. He later joined Oldendorff Carriers for 4 years on the Capesize desk.
He joined Mercuria in 2022 as Head of the Capesize desk in Singapore, before moving to Dubai in 2025. Mercuria operates a fleet of over 30 Capesize bulkers worldwide, providing freight for internal and external clients.
Carl holds a Bachelor of Science in Oceanography from Southampton University and a Bachelor of Law from BPP University, London.
