Anne van Riel is Head of Sustainable Finance Capital Markets Americas region for BNP Paribas, based in New York. Anne has more than 20 years of experience in banking in a variety of roles. Passionate about energy transition and the role finance can play, she has supported many issuers in different sectors and countries with ESG-labeled capital market issuances, including inaugural green bonds for large US corporates and Sustainability-Linked Bonds for sovereign issuers in Latin America. Prior to her Sustainable Finance role, she worked in Project Finance at various European institutions in New York, covering a wide range of sectors including energy, infrastructure and mining. She brings a global view on sustainable debt markets and a deep understanding of the various investor views and trends in the market.
