Rodrigo Bermelho is the Global Head of Shipping and Distribution at Vale, one of the world's largest producers of iron ore and nickel and a major copper producer. With over twenty years of rich experience in the maritime industry, Rodrigo brings a robust technical foundation to his role and has been working with Vale's shipping team to enhance the company's competitive edge, improve safety standards in the maritime industry, and advance the initiatives toward decarbonizing shipping. During the past 15 years at Vale, he has spearheaded impressive projects involving very large ore carriers like Valemax and Guaibamax and pioneered the implementation of innovative emission reduction technologies. Rodrigo has been instrumental in implementing the Ecoshipping, a program created by Vale's shipping area to meet the company's challenge to reduce its carbon emissions by incorporating state-of-the-art efficiency and environmental innovation in Vale's freight fleet.
