Ο Γιώργος Χριστόπουλος είναι o Γενικός Διευθυντής του ΣΕΒ. Είναι Διδάκτωρ Οικονομικών του Πανεπιστημίου του Μάαστριχτ και απόφοιτος του London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) και του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών.
Έχει υπηρετήσει σε θέσεις ευθύνης στο Υπουργείο Εθνικής Οικονομίας και Οικονομικών και στο Υπουργείο Εργασίας και Κοινωνικών Υποθέσεων και υπήρξε σύμβουλος υπουργού στο Υπουργείο Περιβάλλοντος και Ενέργειας. Στο παρελθόν εργάστηκε ως συνεργάτης ερευνητής στο UNU-MERIT, το think tank των Ηνωμένων Εθνών για την καινοτομία.
Έχει διατελέσει μέλος του Συμβουλίου Εταιρικής Διακυβέρνησης του Υπερταμείου, καθώς και μέλος Δ.Σ. στον e-ΕΦΚΑ και στον Οργανισμό Διαχείρισης Δημοσίου Χρέους.
Γεννήθηκε στο Λονδίνο και είναι απόφοιτος του Κολλεγίου Αθηνών.
George Christopoulos is the Director General of SEV. He holds a PhD in Economics from Maastricht University and is a graduate of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
He has served in leadership positions at the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and was an advisor to the Minister at the Ministry of Environment and Energy. He previously worked as a researcher at UNU-MERIT, the United Nations think tank for innovation.
He has served as a member of the Corporate Governance Council of the Growthfund, as well as on the Board of Directors of e-EFKA and the Public Debt Management Agency.
He was born in London and is a graduate of Athens College.
